1st Edition Pair of 'Grand Prix' Chairs by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen, 1957
1st Edition Pair of 'Grand Prix' Chairs by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen, 1957
Exceptional pair of ‘Grand Prix’ chairs designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen in 1957. During that year, the chair was displayed at the Triennale in Milan where it received the Grand Prix, the finest distinction of the exhibition. These chairs are very rare examples from the first year(s) of production. This is visible thanks to the 4 legs which are mounted separately underneath the chair and of course thanks to the old FH logo stamp. In great condition for their age. However the design with four separate legs makes them a bit fragile and not suitable for daily use.
